Bali levy and entry fees in your total
The package price is settled, yet small Bali fees keep appearing in your planning.
IndonesiaQuest Editorial · Updated 20 October 2026
The Bali tourist levy and attraction entry fees are two small rows that decide whether your total feels complete. The levy is paid once per traveller, and entry fees are paid at each site. This guide places both in your budget, using the budgets and package decisions hub as the wider map.
Check the official sites before you fly, because rules and amounts can change.
What is the Bali levy?
Bali asks international visitors to pay a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 on the official Love Bali portal [1]. The portal accepts bank transfer, virtual account and QRIS, and emails a QR voucher after payment [2]. Our Love Bali levy glossary entry walks through the steps.
Keep the voucher on your phone, and use only the official portal address.
Who pays the levy?
Every international traveller pays their own levy, so a family of five pays five. Some agencies pay it for you and include it in the quote, and others leave it with you. Ask which, and who holds the voucher.
If you pay yourself, set aside the amount in ringgit and allow for bank charges. The glossary entry on QRIS explains the payment method.
Want a second pair of eyes on your plan?
If your quote leaves the levy and entry fees unclear, send it with your dates and party. We will mark what looks included and can pass your brief to a licensed agency.
You get a reply from a person who reads your plan, plus a quote from a licensed Malaysian agency if you want one. What about attraction entry fees?
Entry fees are charged at each site, and the amounts differ by attraction. Agencies handle them in two ways: listed as included in the quote, or left for you to pay at the gate. Ask for the list of sites and the fees, so you can budget before you go.
Children, adults and visitors from abroad may pay different fees at the same site. Check the current fee with the agency or the site.
Where do both sit in the total?
Think of them as two lines at the bottom of your quote: one per person for the levy, and one per site for entry. They are small beside the hotel and driver, but they are easy to forget.
| Line | Paid by | Ask the agency |
|---|---|---|
| Tourist levy | Each traveller | Included, or left for me? |
| Entry fees | Each traveller at each site | Listed, or paid at the gate? |

What should you ask before paying?
- Is the levy included, and who pays?
- Which entry tickets are listed, and which are paid at the gate?
- What are the cancellation and date-change terms?
- What is the agency’s MOTAC licence number?
The trip cost calculator shows a planning view in ringgit, and the agency confirms the final figures. The MOTAC licence glossary entry explains how to check an agency.
With your consent, we can pass your brief to a licensed Malaysian agency, and the referral is disclosed in our footer.

Questions Malaysians ask
Is the Bali levy part of the package price?
Some agencies include it and others leave it for you. Ask which, and who pays on the Love Bali portal. Keep the emailed QR voucher on your phone either way.
Does every traveller in the group pay the levy?
The levy applies to each international visitor, so a family of five pays five levies. Check the official portal for who counts as an international visitor and for any exemptions before you pay.
Are attraction entry fees in the levy?
No. The levy is separate from the entry fees charged at each site. Ask the agency whether tickets are listed as included or paid at the gate.
How do I avoid fake levy websites?
Use only the official Love Bali portal address and avoid links from third parties. Check the address before entering payment details.
