How referrals to agencies work
You asked for a quote, and here is what happens to your brief next.
When you ask for a quote, we pass your brief to a licensed Malaysian travel agency, and only with your consent. The agency prepares the quote and handles the booking. This page explains each step so you know who does what.
What happens after you message us?
First, we talk through your plan on WhatsApp: destination, dates, party size, budget range and needs. We may suggest a different region if it suits you better, using our guides as the basis.
Second, we ask if you would like a quote. If you say yes, we send your brief to the agency. The brief contains only those trip details, and we explain what we will share before we send it.
Who is the agency?
The agency is a travel company licensed under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 and registered with MOTAC [1]. You can verify any agency’s licence yourself on the government’s travel agency search.
The agency handles booking, payment, itinerary and after-sales. From the quote onwards, your relationship is with the agency.
How does IndonesiaQuest earn from this?
The agency may pay IndonesiaQuest a referral fee when a reader books through the introduction. This is how a free guide stays free to read.
The fee does not change our editorial content, and it does not add to your cost. What you pay is decided by the agency’s quote, which you are free to compare and decline.
What do you stay in control of?
You decide what to share, whether to accept the quote and whether to book. We only ask for what a quote needs: your dates, destination, party size, budget range and any special needs. Passport, IC, card and medical details stay with you and, at booking, go directly to the agency.
Identity details for a booking go to the agency through its own process. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your brief.
How are offers labelled?
Pages mark each offer as listed by partner, editorial only or discontinued, so you can see what is available. Our editorial policy explains these labels.
Ready to ask?
Open the contact page or tap any WhatsApp button, and tell us about your trip. Read the disclaimer to see how we describe estimates and our role.
What should you prepare before asking for a quote?
A clear brief helps the agency respond with a quote that fits. Have these ready:
- Your preferred dates, and how flexible they are.
- The ages of travellers, especially children and older parents.
- Your budget range in ringgit.
- Must-haves such as halal meals, a slower pace or short transfers.
- Your departure airport.
Questions Malaysians ask
Do I pay IndonesiaQuest anything?
No. You pay the agency, and only if you accept its quote. The agency may pay IndonesiaQuest a referral fee, but your price is set by the agency's quote, and the fee does not change what we write.
Who handles my booking and payment?
The licensed agency handles booking, payment, itinerary and after-sales. IndonesiaQuest helps you prepare the brief and passes it on with your consent. Questions about your booking go to the agency.
How do I check that an agency is licensed?
Use the government's travel agency search at malaysia.gov.my and look up the agency's name. Licences are issued by MOTAC under the Tourism Industry Act 1992. Ask us on WhatsApp if you would like help reading the result.
