About IndonesiaQuest
You want a clear picture of Indonesia before you spend your leave, and we write for that moment.
IndonesiaQuest is an independent Indonesia trip-planning guide for Malaysians, published at indonesiaquest.com.my. A small editorial team researches, writes and updates every page. Our job is to help you choose a region, understand the effort of getting there, and plan with ringgit in mind.
Who runs IndonesiaQuest?
The site is run by a small editorial team. When this page says “we”, it means that team. We write in plain language, in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese, and each version is written for its own readers instead of being converted from another.
We are a publisher. Our work is research, comparison and a clear way to ask for help, and the agencies we work with run the trips themselves.
What can you find here?
The guides explain regions, bases, routes, itineraries, costs and booking checks for Bali, Lombok, Medan and Lake Toba, Yogyakarta, Batam and Bintan. The tools let you test your own numbers, such as budgets and travel time, right in your browser.
Each page is written around a real situation: a week of annual leave, parents who walk slowly, a school holiday with children, a halal meal question, a long road day. You can read at your own pace and decide without talking to anyone.
How does the editorial side work?
Pages draw on official and operator sources, and each fact carries its source and date. You can read the full approach in our editorial policy, and the way we build cost scenarios in our methodology.
If you spot something that has changed, tell us on WhatsApp. We check it, correct the page and note the update.
What happens when you message us?
WhatsApp is our only contact channel, and every WhatsApp button on the site opens a chat with the editorial team. We can talk through your dates, party and needs, and suggest which region fits.
If you would like a quote, we can pass your brief to a licensed Malaysian travel agency, with your consent. The agency handles booking, payment, itinerary and after-sales. How referrals work sets out each step, and the contact page shows how to start a chat.
Where can you read the legal details?
Our privacy policy explains how we handle the messages you send, and the disclaimer explains how to use travel information responsibly. Both are short and written in plain language.
How can you use this site well?
Most readers move through four steps over a few evenings:
- Read the guide for the region you are considering.
- Test your own numbers in a tool.
- Write down your questions about routes, food and pace.
- Message us on WhatsApp to compare options or ask for a quote.
You can stop at any step and keep what you learned. Nothing on the site requires you to contact us.
