Indonesia entry rules tracker
You want the entry steps in one place, with the date each was last checked.
IndonesiaQuest Editorial · Updated 20 October 2026
This tracker lists the entry steps Malaysians meet before an Indonesia trip, with a source and a checked-on date for each row. Rules change, so check before you fly on the official pages linked below.

How was it compiled?
We opened each source and recorded what it says on the date shown. Rows marked official come from Indonesian government pages. Rows marked secondary come from a travel publisher that cites no official page, so treat them as a prompt to verify, not as the rule.
We did not estimate or fill gaps. If a point could not be confirmed, it is left out rather than guessed.
Want a second pair of eyes on your plan?
If your dates, passports or party size make the entry steps unclear, send us your details. We will take a second look and can pass your brief to a licensed agency for a quote.
You get a reply from a person who reads your plan, plus a quote from a licensed Malaysian agency if you want one.How should you use it?
Check your passport date first, because it is the item you cannot fix on arrival. Then complete the arrival declaration on the official portal, and keep the QR code on your phone.
For Bali, pay the levy only on the official portal, as fake sites exist. Our Bali levy glossary entry explains the term, and the region chooser helps if you are still choosing where to go.
What is not in the table?
Customs and health forms, insurance requirements and onward-ticket checks are not listed because we could not confirm them against an official page. Ask your airline and check the immigration site before you go.
If you are planning drives after you land, see the Bali drive-time table.
Keep planning
- Love Bali levy: what it isYou saw the name on a travel forum and want to know what it means for your wallet.
- Bali drive times between areasYou are placing a driver and a family on a map that looks smaller than the road feels.
- Indonesia region chooserYou have one trip's worth of leave and six regions all asking for it.
- Where to stay: area guidesYou know the island, but the choice of base still decides how tired everyone feels.
- Airport pickup fees and hotel transfersYou land tired, and the hotel's pickup offer arrives with a price you cannot judge.
- Attractions and cultural places in IndonesiaYou have limited leave and a long list of temples, and you want the days to feel unhurried.
Questions Malaysians ask
Do Malaysians need a visa for Indonesia?
Secondary sources report visa-free entry for short tourist stays, but we could not open an official immigration page to confirm it. Check the official immigration pages before you fly, and treat this tracker as a starting point, not the final word.
Is the All Indonesia arrival card free?
The card is filled in on the official All Indonesia portal. Look-alike sites exist, so type the official address yourself and avoid links from adverts or messages.
Do Malaysians pay the Bali levy?
The Love Bali portal lists a levy for international visitors, paid on the official site. Keep the emailed voucher on your phone and check the portal for current rules.
When is this tracker checked?
Each row carries its own checked-on date. When a rule changes, the row is updated and the date moves. Always confirm on the linked official page before travelling.
