Bintan all-inclusive packages: what is in the bundle

You are comparing Bintan packages for the family and want to know what the price really covers.

IndonesiaQuest Editorial · Updated 20 October 2026

An all-inclusive label on a Bintan package means different things at different resorts. Ask the resort or agency to list every inclusion and exclusion in writing, then compare the lists rather than the label. Check meals, drinks, the ferry, the road transfer, activities and children’s extras line by line.

This guide belongs to the hotels, resorts and villas hub. For the island, see our Bintan destination page.

What can sit inside an all-inclusive bundle?

Use the table as a checklist. Fill every row for every package.

Line Can be inside Can be outside Question to ask
Room Yes Upgrades, view or connecting rooms Which room type is the price for?
Meals Breakfast, lunch, dinner Speciality restaurants, room service Which outlets and which meals?
Drinks Soft drinks, water, set hours Alcohol, premium drinks, bottled water What is the drinks policy by outlet?
Ferry and transfers Ferry, terminal fees, road leg Return leg, porter, late pickup Which legs are in the price?
Activities Kids’ club, selected water sports Boat trips, spa, guided tours Which activities are free, and which need a fee?
Children Kids’ meals, kids’ club Extra bed, cot, babysitter What is the child age rule?
Taxes Included in the quoted price Added at check-out Is the quote before or after tax and service?

Read our guide to the Bintan resort package for a wider checklist, and the page on comparing Bintan packages with different meal plans for meal-plan differences.

Travel guides note that a buffet breakfast and ferry terminal transfers are almost always in Lagoi room prices [2], so an all-inclusive label should add more than those two lines.

How do you read the meals line?

Ask which meals are included, at which restaurants and at what hours. A package may include breakfast and dinner at the main restaurant, while a speciality restaurant carries an extra charge. Check whether set menus apply, whether children eat from the same buffet and what happens on the day you arrive and leave.

For Muslim families, ask for a halal arrangement by outlet, in writing. Look for the halal logo of the Indonesian halal product agency (BPJPH) where a venue claims certification, and ask how the kitchen handles pork. Treat a general promise with care and ask for evidence.

One 2016 press report from a Bintan all-inclusive resort said pork was served at the buffet, while the Muslim chef assured guests that the meat and utensils were halal [1]. A chef’s assurance is not a certificate, so ask for the halal arrangement outlet by outlet, in writing.

What about drinks and snacks?

Drink policies differ by resort. Some bundles include soft drinks and water at meals, others extend to bars at set hours, and others charge for everything beyond a jug of water. Ask what a child can order, whether there is a limit and whether room-fridge items are charged.

Snacks between meals can be inside or outside the price. A family with young children should ask about afternoon snacks and milk or juice.

The same report described free-flow bar drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as part of the package, with spa treatments as an extra from RM350 [1]. If your family does not drink alcohol, check how much of the bundle you would use.

Are the ferry and transfers inside?

Bintan trips need a ferry crossing and a road leg to the resort. Some bundles include both, some include one and some include neither. Our guide to Bintan resort stay transfer legs explains each leg, and the Bandar Bentan Telani ferry terminal guide covers one common arrival point.

Ask whether the return leg, terminal fees and porter are in the price, and who meets you on arrival.

Want a second pair of eyes on your plan?

If you are weighing all-inclusive against room-and-breakfast for your family, send us your dates, ages and plans. We can help you read the bundle and pass your brief to a licensed agency for a quote.

You get a reply from a person who reads your plan, plus a quote from a licensed Malaysian agency if you want one.

Which activities and kids’ extras are free?

Resorts can offer a kids’ club, a pool and basic beach activities, but ask which are free and which need a fee. Water sports, boat trips and spa treatments can be priced separately. Our page on Lagoi beach clubs and day passes shows the difference between resort guests and day visitors.

Ask the child age rule for the kids’ club, and confirm the opening hours so you can plan the day.

At that resort, children under 4 stayed free and the kids club carried no extra cost [1]. Rules differ by resort and year, so ask for the current line.

Who gains from from an all-inclusive bundle?

Families with young children gain from a fixed budget, because snacks, drinks and meals do not need a new decision each time. Grandparents who prefer to rest near the pool gain from having everything on one site. Groups who value a predictable total before the trip also find the bundle easier to plan.

Travellers who like to wander, try street food or take day tours gain less. For them, ask for a room-and-breakfast rate and keep a meal budget for outings.

When does room-and-breakfast beat all-inclusive?

If your family plans outings, eats at local places or spends long days away, an all-inclusive bundle may go unused. A room-and-breakfast rate plus pay-as-you-go meals can then suit better. If your family stays on site, likes a fixed budget and uses the activities, the bundle gains value.

Put both options side by side in the package inclusion comparator, and total the whole stay in the trip cost calculator.

What message should you send?

Send one message, and keep the reply:

  1. We are [number] travelling on [dates], with children aged [ages].
  2. Please list every inclusion and exclusion in the all-inclusive price.
  3. Please state the meals, outlets and hours, and how halal is handled.
  4. Please state the drinks policy, including for children.
  5. Please state whether the ferry, terminal fees and transfers are included.
  6. Please list the free activities and the ones with a fee.
  7. Please state whether the price is before or after tax and service.

Prices shift by date and party, so fixed numbers are left out here. A written list is the best protection when two quotes look similar.

What if the bundle looks unclear?

Ask the agency to attach the resort’s own inclusion list to the quote. If the resort will not define the label, compare a package that does. Send us the quotes you are weighing and we will help you read them, then pass your brief to a licensed agency with your consent.

Questions Malaysians ask

What does all-inclusive mean at a Bintan resort?

The term has no single definition. It can mean room, meals and selected drinks, or it can cover activities and the ferry as well. Ask the resort or agency to list every inclusion and exclusion in writing, and compare the lists, not the label.

Are drinks and snacks included in an all-inclusive package?

Some packages include soft drinks and set snacks, others cover only meals. Alcohol, bottled water, room service and speciality restaurants may be charged separately. Ask for the drinks policy by outlet and hour, and note whether children's drinks are included.

Are ferry tickets and transfers part of the package?

Sometimes, and sometimes they sit outside the price. Ask whether the ferry, the terminal fees, the road transfer and the return leg are included. Our transfer guide explains the legs, and a quote that lists each leg is easier to compare.

How do I know the food is halal?

Do not assume. Ask the resort for a meal-by-meal halal arrangement in writing, check for the BPJPH halal logo where a venue claims certification and ask how the kitchen separates pork. A named list of outlets with evidence is better than a general promise.

Is all-inclusive worth it for a family?

It can be, when your family eats at the resort, uses the activities and values a fixed budget. It is less useful when you plan outings, eat out in town or spend long days away. Compare it with a room-and-breakfast rate plus pay-as-you-go meals.
